In the second round of the new Premier Soccer League season, FC Dinara played a dramatic match that was literally decided in the final seconds, finishing in a 3:3 draw against their old rivals, Connection.
It didn’t start well at the Serbian Brothers Help grounds in Lake Villa, North Chicago. The visitors took a 1:0 lead, cutting through a series of attacks from the “Black and Whites.” That score held until the end of the first half.
After the break, our boys came out like a whirlwind, first equalizing and then surging ahead to a 2:1 lead!
And then, the match began to feel like a carbon copy of last week’s clash with SC Schwaben…
First a red card and an ejection, followed by the Ukrainians taking advantage of their extra man to equalize and eventually take a 3:2 lead in the 90th minute.
Just when all seemed lost, Dinara summoned their last ounce of strength in stoppage time to find an equalizer, only for the referee to blow the final whistle seconds later.
Dizdarević netted two goals for Dinara, while Zdravković added one.
It was another grueling match, with the team still adjusting to the outdoor pitches, but the first point has been secured. We believe things will only get smoother as the championship progresses.
There will be no matches next weekend due to Mother’s Day.
